In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies.
You alone are the Lord; You have made heaven,
The heaven of heavens, with all their host,
The earth and everything on it, The seas and all that is in them, And You
preserve them all. The host of heaven worships You.
He commands the sun, and it does not rise; He seals off the
stars; 8 He alone spreads out the heavens, And treads on the waves of the sea;
9 He made the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, And the chambers of the south;10
He does great things past finding out, Yes, wonders without number. 11 If He
goes by me, I do not see Him; If He moves past, I do not perceive Him; 12 If He
takes away, who can hinder Him?
Who can say to Him, ‘What are You doing?’
O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the
earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens! 2 Out of the mouth of babes
and nursing infants You have ordained strength,
Because of Your enemies, That You may silence the enemy and the avenger. 3 When
I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which
You have ordained, 4 What is man that You are mindful of him, And the son of
man that You visit him?
5 For You have made him a little lower than the angels, And You have crowned
him with glory and honor. 6 You have made him to have dominion over the works
of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet, 7 All sheep and oxen—Even the beasts of
the field,
8 The birds of the air, And the fish of the sea
That pass through the paths of the seas.
9 O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth!
By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, And all the
host of them by the breath of His mouth. 7 He gathers the waters of the sea
together as a heap; He lays up the deep in storehouses. 8 Let all the earth
fear the Lord;
Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. 9 For He spoke, and
it was done;
He commanded, and it stood fast.
For God is my King from of old,
Working salvation in the midst of the earth.
13 You divided the sea by Your strength;
You broke the heads of the sea serpents in the waters.
14 You broke the heads of Leviathan in pieces,
And gave him as food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
15 You broke open the fountain and the flood;
You dried up mighty rivers.
16 The day is Yours, the night also is Yours;
You have prepared the light and the sun.
17 You have set all the borders of the earth;
You have made summer and winter.
And the heavens will praise Your wonders, O Lord; Your
faithfulness also in the assembly of the saints.
6 For who in the heavens can be compared to the Lord? Who among the sons of the
mighty can be likened to the Lord?
7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, And to be held in
reverence by all those around Him.
8 O Lord God of hosts, Who is mighty like You, O Lord? Your faithfulness also
surrounds You.
9 You rule the raging of the sea; When its waves rise, You still them.
10 You have broken Rahab in pieces, as one who is slain; You have scattered
Your enemies with Your mighty arm.
11 The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; The world and all its
fullness, You have founded them.
12 The north and the south, You have created them; Tabor and Hermon rejoice in
Your name.
Before the mountains were brought forth,
Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to
everlasting, You are God.
3 You turn man to destruction,
And say, “Return, O children of men.”
4 For a thousand years in Your sight
Are like yesterday when it is past,
And like a watch in the night.
5 You carry them away like a flood; They are like a sleep. In the morning they
are like grass which grows up:
6 In the morning it flourishes and grows up;
In the evening it is cut down and withers.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!
O Lord my God, You are very great:
You are clothed with honor and majesty,
2 Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment,
Who stretch out the heavens like a curtain.
3 He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters, Who makes the clouds
His chariot,
Who walks on the wings of the wind,
4 Who makes His angels spirits,
His ministers a flame of fire.
5 You who laid the foundations of the earth,
So that it should not be moved forever,
6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment; The waters stood above the
mountains. 7 At Your rebuke they fled;
At the voice of Your thunder they hastened away. 8 They went up over the
mountains;
They went down into the valleys,
To the place which You founded for them.
9 You have set a boundary that they may not pass over, That they may not return
to cover the earth.
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
Our help is in the name of the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.

For His mercy endures forever:
4 To Him who alone does great wonders,
For His mercy endures forever;
5 To Him who by wisdom made the heavens,
For His mercy endures forever;
6 To Him who laid out the earth above the waters,
For His mercy endures forever;
7 To Him who made great lights,
For His mercy endures forever—
8 The sun to rule by day,
For His mercy endures forever;
9 The moon and stars to rule by night,
For His mercy endures forever.
Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever,
The Lord by wisdom founded the earth;
By understanding He established the heavens;
20 By His knowledge the depths were broken up, And clouds drop down the dew.
Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer,
And He who formed you from the womb:
“I am the Lord, who makes all things,
Who stretches out the heavens all alone,
Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself;
25 Who frustrates the signs of the babblers,
And drives diviners mad;
Who turns wise men backward,
And makes their knowledge foolishness;
I form the light and create darkness,
I make peace and create calamity;
I, the Lord, do all these things.’
I have made the earth, And created man on it.
I—My hands—stretched out the heavens,
And all their host I have commanded.
For thus says the Lord, Who created the heavens, Who is God, Who formed the earth and made it, Who has established it, Who did not create it in vain, Who formed it to be inhabited: “I am the Lord, and there is no other.”
Indeed My hand has laid the foundation of the earth, And My
right hand has stretched out the heavens; When I call to them,
They stand up together.
He has made the earth by His power,
He has established the world by His wisdom,
And has stretched out the heavens at His discretion.
13 When He utters His voice,
There is a multitude of waters in the heavens:
“And He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth. He makes
lightning for the rain, He brings the wind out of His treasuries.”
‘I have made the earth, the man and the beast that are on the ground, by My great power and by My outstretched arm, and have given it to whom it seemed proper to Me.
‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.
“Thus says the Lord who made it, the Lord who formed it to establish it (the Lord is His name):
He has made the earth by His power;
He has established the world by His wisdom,
And stretched out the heaven by His understanding.
16 When He utters His voice—There is a multitude of waters in the heavens: “He
causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth;
He makes lightnings for the rain;
He brings the wind out of His treasuries.”
He made the Pleiades and Orion;
He turns the shadow of death into morning
And makes the day dark as night;
He calls for the waters of the sea
And pours them out on the face of the earth;
The Lord is His name.
The burden of the word of the Lord against
And He answered and said to them, “Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning ‘made them male and female,’ 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’ ? 6 So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”
But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’
So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them,
God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands. 25 Nor is He worshiped with men’s hands, as though He needed anything, since He gives to all life, breath, and all things. 26 And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, 27 so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; 28 for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, ‘For we are also His offspring.’
yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.
“You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and
power; For You created all things,
And by Your will they exist and were created.”
and swore by Him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that there should be delay no longer,
saying with a loud voice, “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.”
Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land of which the Lord swore to your fathers to give them, like the days of the heavens above the earth.
Tremble before Him, all the earth.
The world also is firmly established,
It shall not be moved.
31 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; And let them say among
the nations, “The Lord reigns.”
32 Let the sea roar, and all its fullness;
Let the field rejoice, and all that is in it.
33 Then the trees of the woods shall rejoice before the Lord,
For He is coming to judge the earth.
34 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
“But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; And the
birds of the air, and they will tell you; 8 Or speak to the earth, and it will
teach you; And the fish of the sea will explain to you.
9 Who among all these does not know
That the hand of the Lord has done this,
10 In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all
mankind?
Since his days are determined, The number of his months is
with You; You have appointed his limits, so that he cannot pass.
7 “For there is hope for a tree,
If it is cut down, that it will sprout again,
And that its tender shoots will not cease.
8 Though its root may grow old in the earth,
And its stump may die in the ground,
9 Yet at the scent of water it will bud
And bring forth branches like a plant.
10 But man dies and is laid away;
Indeed he breathes his last And where is he?
11 As water disappears from the sea,
And a river becomes parched and dries up,
12 So man lies down and does not rise.
Till the heavens are no more, They will not awake Nor be roused from their
sleep.
“Look, I go forward, but He is not there,
And backward, but I cannot perceive Him;
9 When He works on the left hand, I cannot behold Him; When He turns to the
right hand, I cannot see Him. 10 But He knows the way that I take; When He has
tested me, I shall come forth as gold.
He stretches out the north over empty space;
He hangs the earth on nothing.
8 He binds up the water in His thick clouds,
Yet the clouds are not broken under it.
9 He covers the face of His throne,
And spreads His cloud over it.
10 He drew a circular horizon on the face of the waters, At the boundary of
light and darkness.
11 The pillars of heaven tremble,
And are astonished at His rebuke.
12 He stirs up the sea with His power,
And by His understanding He breaks up the storm.
13 By His Spirit He adorned the heavens;
His hand pierced the fleeing serpent.
14 Indeed these are the mere edges of His ways,
And how small a whisper we hear of Him!
But the thunder of His power who can understand?”
For He draws up drops of water,
Which distill as rain from the mist,
28 Which the clouds drop down
And pour abundantly on man.
29 Indeed, can anyone understand the spreading of clouds, The thunder from His
canopy?
30 Look, He scatters His light upon it,
And covers the depths of the sea.
31 For by these He judges the peoples;
He gives food in abundance.
32 He covers His hands with lightning,
And commands it to strike.
33 His thunder declares it,
The cattle also, concerning the rising storm.
1 “At this also my heart trembles, And leaps from its place.
2 Hear attentively the thunder of His voice,
And the rumbling that comes from His mouth.
3 He sends it forth under the whole heaven,
His lightning to the ends of the earth.
Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said: 2
“Who is this who darkens counsel
By words without knowledge?
3 Now prepare yourself like a man;
I will question you, and you shall answer
4 “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell Me, if you
have understanding.
5 Who determined its measurements? Surely you know! Or who stretched the line
upon it?
6 To what were its foundations fastened?
Or who laid its cornerstone,
7 When the morning stars sang together,
And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8 “Or who shut in the sea with doors,
When it burst forth and issued from the womb;
9 When I made the clouds its garment,
And thick darkness its swaddling band;
10 When I fixed My limit for it, And set bars and doors; 11 When I said, ‘This
far you may come, but no farther, And here your proud waves must stop!’
31 “Can you bind the cluster of the Pleiades,
Or loose the belt of Orion?
32 Can you bring out Mazzaroth in its season?
Or can you guide the Great Bear with its cubs?
33 Do you know the ordinances of the heavens?
Can you set their dominion over the earth?
34 “Can you lift up your voice to the clouds,
That an abundance of water may cover you?
35 Can you send out lightnings, that they may go, And say to you, ‘Here we
are!’?
36 Who has put wisdom in the mind?
Or who has given understanding to the heart?
37 Who can number the clouds by wisdom?
Or who can pour out the bottles of heaven,
38 When the dust hardens in clumps,
And the clods cling together?
39 “Can you hunt the prey for the lion,
Or satisfy the appetite of the young lions,
40 When they crouch in their dens,
Or lurk in their lairs to lie in wait?
41 Who provides food for the raven,
When its young ones cry to God,
And wander about for lack of food?
15 “Look now at the behemoth, which I made along with you;
He eats grass like an ox.
16 See now, his strength is in his hips,
And his power is in his stomach muscles.
17 He moves his tail like a cedar;
The sinews of his thighs are tightly knit.
18 His bones are like beams of bronze,
His ribs like bars of iron.
19 He is the first of the ways of God;
Only He who made him can bring near His sword.
20 Surely the mountains yield food for him,
And all the beasts of the field play there.
21 He lies under the lotus trees,
In a covert of reeds and marsh.
22 The lotus trees cover him with their shade;
The willows by the brook surround him.
23 Indeed the river may rage,
Yet he is not disturbed;
He is confident, though the
24 Though he takes it in his eyes,
Or one pierces his nose with a snare.
1 “Can you draw out Leviathan with a hook,
Or snare his tongue with a line which you lower?
2 Can you put a reed through his nose,
Or pierce his jaw with a hook?
3 Will he make many supplications to you?
Will he speak softly to you?
4 Will he make a covenant with you?
Will you take him as a servant forever?
5 Will you play with him as with a bird,
Or will you leash him for your maidens?
6 Will your companions make a banquet of him?
Will they apportion him among the merchants?
7 Can you fill his skin with harpoons,
Or his head with fishing spears? 8 Lay your hand on him; Remember the
battle—Never do it again!
9 Indeed, any hope of overcoming him is false;
Shall one not be overwhelmed at the sight of him? 10 No one is so fierce that
he would dare stir him up. Who then is able to stand against Me? 11 Who has
preceded Me, that I should pay him? Everything under heaven is Mine.
12 “I will not conceal his limbs,
His mighty power, or his graceful proportions.
13 Who can remove his outer coat?
Who can approach him with a double bridle?
14 Who can open the doors of his face,
With his terrible teeth all around?
15 His rows of scales are his pride,
Shut up tightly as with a seal;
16 One is so near another
That no air can come between them;
17 They are joined one to another,
They stick together and cannot be parted.
18 His sneezings flash forth light,
And his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
19 Out of his mouth go burning lights;
20 Smoke goes out of his nostrils,
As from a boiling pot and burning rushes.
21 His breath kindles coals,
And a flame goes out of his mouth.
22 Strength dwells in his neck,
And sorrow dances before him.
23 The folds of his flesh are joined together;
They are firm on him and cannot be moved.
24 His heart is as hard as stone,
Even as hard as the lower millstone.
25 When he raises himself up, the mighty are afraid; Because of his crashings
they are beside themselves.
26 Though the sword reaches him, it cannot avail;
Nor does spear, dart, or javelin.
27 He regards iron as straw,
And bronze as rotten wood.
28 The arrow cannot make him flee;
Slingstones become like stubble to him.
29 Darts are regarded as straw;
He laughs at the threat of javelins.
30 His undersides are like sharp potsherds;
He spreads pointed marks in the mire.
31 He makes the deep boil like a pot;
He makes the sea like a pot of ointment.
32 He leaves a shining wake behind him;
One would think the deep had white hair.
33 On earth there is nothing like him,
Which is made without fear.
34 He beholds every high thing;
He is king over all the children of pride.”
The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty;
The Lord is clothed,
He has girded Himself with strength.
Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved.
2 Your throne is established from of old;
You are from everlasting.
3 The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
The floods have lifted up their voice;
The floods lift up their waves.
4 The Lord on high is mightier
Than the noise of many waters,
Than the mighty waves of the sea.
Say among the nations, “The Lord reigns;
The world also is firmly established,
It shall not be moved;
He shall judge the peoples righteously.”

O Lord, You have searched me and known me.
2 You know my sitting down and my rising up;
You understand my thought afar off.
3 You comprehend my path and my lying down,
And are acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word on my tongue,
But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether.
5 You have hedged me behind and before,
And laid Your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
It is high, I cannot attain it.
7 Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there;
If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning,
And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me,
And Your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,”
Even the night shall be light about me;
12 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You,
But the night shines as the day;
The darkness and the light are both alike to You.
13 For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully
wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all
were written,
The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.
17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of
them!
18 If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand;
When I awake, I am still with You.
4 He counts the number of the stars;
He calls them all by name.
5 Great is our Lord, and mighty in power;
His understanding is infinite.
Praise the Lord!
Praise the Lord from the heavens;
Praise Him in the heights!
2 Praise Him, all His angels;
Praise Him, all His hosts!
3 Praise Him, sun and moon;
Praise Him, all you stars of light!
4 Praise Him, you heavens of heavens,
And you waters above the heavens!
5 Let them praise the name of the Lord,
For He commanded and they were created.
6 He also established them forever and ever;
He made a decree which shall not pass away.
“The Lord possessed me at the beginning of His way, Before
His works of old.
23 I have been established from everlasting,
From the beginning, before there was ever an earth.
24 When there were no depths I was brought forth, When there were no fountains
abounding with water.
25 Before the mountains were settled,
Before the hills, I was brought forth;
26 While as yet He had not made the earth or the fields, Or the primal dust of
the world.
27 When He prepared the heavens, I was there,
When He drew a circle on the face of the deep,
28 When He established the clouds above,
When He strengthened the fountains of the deep,
29 When He assigned to the sea its limit,
So that the waters would not transgress His command, When He marked out the
foundations of the earth,
30 Then I was beside Him as a master craftsman;
And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him,
31 Rejoicing in His inhabited world,
And my delight was with the sons of men.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
Have you not known? Have you not heard?
Has it not been told you from the beginning?
Have you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,
And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers,
Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,
And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.
Thus says God the Lord, Who created the heavens and
stretched them out, Who spread forth the earth and that which comes from it,
Who gives breath to the people on it,
And spirit to those who walk on it:
Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—
For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven, 3 if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked. 4 For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.
And: “You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the
earth,
And the heavens are the work of Your hands.
11 They will perish, but You remain;
And they will all grow old like a garment;
12 Like a cloak You will fold them up, And they will be changed.
But You are the same, And Your years will not fail.”
By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.
just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all
creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are
on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities
or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before
all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body,
the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all
things He may have the preeminence.
19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and
by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or
things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,
in hope of eternal life which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began,
12 Then Joshua spoke to the Lord in the day when the Lord
delivered up the Amorites before the children of
13 So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped,
Till the people had revenge Upon their enemies.
Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst
of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day. 14 And there
has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the Lord heeded the
voice of a man; for the Lord fought for
And Hezekiah said to Isaiah, “What is the sign that the Lord
will heal me, and that I shall go up to the house of the Lord the third day?”
9 Then Isaiah said, “This is the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will
do the thing which He has spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees or go
backward ten degrees?”
10 And Hezekiah answered, “It is an easy thing for the shadow to go down ten
degrees; no, but let the shadow go backward ten degrees.”
11 So Isaiah the prophet cried out to the Lord, and He brought the shadow ten
degrees backward, by which it had gone down on the sundial of Ahaz.
Who does great things, and unsearchable,
Marvelous things without number.
He sent Moses His servant,
And Aaron whom He had chosen.
27 They performed His signs among them,
And wonders in the
28 He sent darkness, and made it dark;
And they did not rebel against His word.
29 He turned their waters into blood,
And killed their fish.
30 Their land abounded with frogs,
Even in the chambers of their kings.
31 He spoke, and there came swarms of flies,
And lice in all their territory.
32 He gave them hail for rain,
And flaming fire in their land.
33 He struck their vines also, and their fig trees,
And splintered the trees of their territory.
34 He spoke, and locusts came,
Young locusts without number,
35 And ate up all the vegetation in their land,
And devoured the fruit of their ground.
36 He also destroyed all the firstborn in their land, The first of all their
strength.
The lot is cast into the lap,
But its every decision is from the Lord.
And this is the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing which He has spoken: 8 Behold, I will bring the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down with the sun on the sundial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward.” So the sun returned ten degrees on the dial by which it had gone down.
On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” 36 Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. 37 And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. 38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” 39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude. 17 So they all ate and were filled, and twelve baskets of the leftover fragments were taken up by them.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. 7 Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. 9 When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. 10 And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!”
“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
You shall keep the Sabbath, therefore, for it is holy to
you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does
any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. 15 Work
shall be done for six days, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the
Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to
death. 16 Therefore the children of
Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let
us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed the gospel
was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not
profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it. 3 For we who
have believed do enter that rest, as He has said: “So I swore in My wrath,
‘They shall not enter My rest,’ ” although the works were finished from the
foundation of the world. 4 For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh
day in this way: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; 5 and
again in this place: “They shall not enter My rest.”
6 Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was
first preached did not enter because of disobedience, 7 again He designates a
certain day, saying in David, “Today,” after such a long time, as it has been
said: “Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.”
8 For if Joshua had given them rest, then He would not afterward have spoken of
another day. 9 There remains therefore a rest for the people of God. 10 For he
who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from
His.
11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according
to the same example of disobedience.
The heavens declare the glory of
God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.
2 Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language
Where their voice is not heard.
Let the heavens declare His righteousness,
For God Himself is Judge.

The Lord has made known His salvation;
His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations.
3 He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of
All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
“To whom then will you liken Me, Or to whom shall I be
equal?” says the Holy One.
26 Lift up your eyes on high, And see who has created these things, Who brings
out their host by number; He calls them all by name, By the greatness of His
might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing.
27 Why do you say, O Jacob, And speak, O Israel: “My way is hidden from the
Lord, And my just claim is passed over by my God”?
28 Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither
faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
They shall fear You As long as the sun and moon endure,
Throughout all generations.
6 He shall come down like rain upon the grass before mowing, Like showers that
water the earth.
7 In His days the righteous shall flourish, And abundance of peace, Until the
moon is no more.
It shall be established forever like the moon,
Even like the faithful witness in the sky.”
Of old You laid the foundation of the earth,
And the heavens are the work of Your hands.
26 They will perish, but You will endure; Yes, they will all grow old like a
garment; Like a cloak You will change them, And they will be changed. 27 But
You are the same,
And Your years will have no end.
Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven.
90 Your faithfulness endures to all generations;
You established the earth, and it abides.
91 They continue this day according to Your ordinances, For all are Your
servants.
Lift up your eyes to the heavens,
And look on the earth beneath.
For the heavens will vanish away like smoke,
The earth will grow old like a garment,
And those who dwell in it will die in like manner;
But My salvation will be forever,
And My righteousness will not be abolished.
As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me.’ ”
Those who are wise shall shine
Like the brightness of the firmament,
And those who turn many to righteousness
Like the stars forever and ever.
For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
For the indignation of the Lord is against all nations, And
His fury against all their armies;
He has utterly destroyed them,
He has given them over to the slaughter.
3 Also their slain shall be thrown out; Their stench shall rise from their
corpses, And the mountains shall be melted with their blood.
4 All the host of heaven shall be dissolved,
And the heavens shall be rolled up like a scroll;
All their host shall fall down As the leaf falls from the vine, And as fruit
falling from a fig tree.
5 “For My sword shall be bathed in heaven;
Indeed it shall come down on
And on the people of My curse, for judgment.
Violence shall no longer be heard in your land,
Neither wasting nor destruction within your borders; But you shall call your
walls Salvation,
And your gates Praise.
19 “The sun shall no longer be your light by day, Nor for brightness shall the
moon give light to you; But the Lord will be to you an everlasting light, And
your God your glory.
20 Your sun shall no longer go down,
Nor shall your moon withdraw itself;
For the Lord will be your everlasting light,
And the days of your mourning shall be ended.
21 Also your people shall all be righteous; They shall inherit the land
forever, The branch of My planting, The work of My hands, That I may be
glorified.
“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the
former shall not be remembered or come to mind.
18 But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; For behold, I create
19 I will rejoice in
20 “No more shall an infant from there live but a few days, Nor an old man who
has not fulfilled his days; For the child shall die one hundred years old, But
the sinner being one hundred years old shall be accursed.
21 They shall build houses and inhabit them;
They shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
22 They shall not build and another inhabit;
They shall not plant and another eat;
For as the days of a tree, so shall be the days of My people, And My elect
shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
23 They shall not labor in vain, Nor bring forth children for trouble; For they
shall be the descendants of the blessed of the Lord, And their offspring with
them.
24 “It shall come to pass That before they call, I will answer; And while they
are still speaking, I will hear.
25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together,
The lion shall eat straw like the ox,
And dust shall be the serpent’s food.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,” Says the Lord.
“For as the new heavens and the new earth
Which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the Lord, “So shall your
descendants and your name remain.
He stood and measured the earth; He looked and startled the nations. And the everlasting mountains were scattered, The perpetual hills bowed. His ways are everlasting.
“Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: 46 And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
Jesus answered and said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage. 35 But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; 36 nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. 37 But even Moses showed in the burning bush passage that the dead are raised, when he called the Lord ‘the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ 38 For He is not the God of the dead but of the living, for all live to Him.”
In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. 23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. 24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The
things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches
all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a
man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the
things of God except the Spirit of God.
Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13 each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. 14 If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
But someone will say, “How are the dead raised up? And with
what body do they come?” 36 Foolish one, what you sow is not made alive unless
it dies. 37 And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be, but mere
grain—perhaps wheat or some other grain. 38 But God gives it a body as He
pleases, and to each seed its own body.
39 All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh of men,
another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds.
40 There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the
celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. 41 There is one
glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars;
for one star differs from another star in glory.
42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it
is raised in incorruption. 43 It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It
is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. 44 It is sown a natural body, it is
raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual
body. 45 And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The
last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
46 However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the
spiritual. 47 The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is
the Lord from heaven. 48 As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made
of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. 49 And
as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of
the heavenly
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last
days, walking according to their own lusts, 4 and saying, “Where is the promise
of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they
were from the beginning of creation.” 5 For this they willfully forget: that by
the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of water
and in the water, 6 by which the world that then existed perished, being
flooded with water. 7 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by
the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of
ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as
a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. 9 The Lord is not slack
concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward
us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the
heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with
fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 11
Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons
ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the
coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being
on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we,
according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which
righteousness dwells.
And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.
Then one of the elders answered, saying to me, “Who are
these arrayed in white robes, and where did they come from?”
14 And I said to him, “Sir, you know.”
So he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation,
and washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15
Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His
temple. And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. 16 They shall
neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor
any heat; 17 for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them
and lead them to living fountains of waters. And God will wipe away every tear
from their eyes.”
1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first
heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then
I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,
prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from
heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell
with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be
their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be
no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the
former things have passed away.”
5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He
said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”
6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning
and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who
thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and
he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers,
sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in
the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
9 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with the seven
last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, “Come, I will show you the
bride, the Lamb’s wife.” 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and
high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy
14 Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names
of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 And he who talked with me had a gold
reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall. 16 The city is laid out as a
square; its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with
the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth, and height are equal.
17 Then he measured its wall: one hundred and forty-four cubits, according to
the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. 18 The construction of its wall was
of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. 19 The foundations of
the wall of the city were adorned with all kinds of precious stones: the first
foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth
emerald, 20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the
eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and
the twelfth amethyst. 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual
gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like
transparent glass.
22 But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its
temple. 23 The city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for
the glory of God illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. 24 And the nations of
those who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring
their glory and honor into it. 25 Its gates shall not be shut at all by day (there
shall be no night there). 26 And they shall bring the glory and the honor of
the nations into it. 27 But there shall by no means enter it anything that
defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in
the Lamb’s Book of Life.
12 “And behold, I am
coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his
work. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and
the Last.”
14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to
the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. 15 But outside
are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and
whoever loves and practices a lie. 16 “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify
to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David,
the Bright and Morning Star.” 17 And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And
let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires,
let him take the water of life freely. 18 For I testify to everyone who hears
the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God
will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes
away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part
from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are
written in this book. 20 He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am
coming quickly.”
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
