Exodus 40:36-38 (NKJV)

Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would go onward in all their journeys. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not journey till the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of the Lord was above the tabernacle by day, and fire was over it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys.

The Israelites enjoyed the company of the Lord in their camp as the Lord tabernacled with them. They could see Him as a pillar of cloud by day and as a pillar of fire by night above the tabernacle. They certainly would not up and pack up the tabernacle while the Lord was stationed there for fear of defiling the holiness of that place. But when the Lord moved, they felt the freedom to move too.

We should be like that. If you are a Christian your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and the Lord is residing in you. Wait on Him. Don't move until he moves.

1 Corinthians 3:16 (NKJV)

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
