Psalm 45:6-7 (NKJV)

Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. You love righteousness and hate wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.

When I first started reading this psalm, I was unsure whether the king spoken of was an earthly king or not. Then I got to these verses. No doubt about it, this speaks of the Messiah King who is God and yet is anointed by God with the oil of gladness. There is only one who is both God and a man who worships God and that is Jesus Christ, God in the flesh.

Note that He loves righteousness and hates wickedness. May that be true of me.

Psalm 139:23-24 (NKJV)

Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.
